Today’s Just a Thought comes from John 16:33: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
I have overcome the world!
What are more encompassing and powerful words than these?
What on your list of troubles do these words fail to cover?
Where are the loopholes that leave room for doubt?
Who in history has ever made such a claim?
What leader has the authority to speak with such confidence?
When we read words on a daily basis, we are continuing to process — at computer-level speeds — the truth and meaning behind the words we read or hear.
Try it again:
