Look Into My Eyes

If we can fully understand God, the almighty creator of the universe, all powerful, all present, all mighty God is to be known as the father of all mankind — and grasp his loving intent of being fatherly — then we get a glimpse into the heart of God.
When we survey all the hurt in the world that we inflict on each other, it brings me to the picture of me saying, dad so and so is hurting me, and my dad saying I know but don't worry I will take care of this, trust me, look into my eyes son and trust that it will be alright.
When I look into his eyes I see such confidence, security, comfort, peace. But when I look closer I see what appears to be a tear forming.
A tear, held back, but representing the sadness God feels that his children, the very ones he created in his image, could be so harmful to each other.
I think of Jesus being tortured, mocked, spit upon, saying, “Father, they are hurting me.” God replying, “Jesus my son, I know, but look into my eyes. Focus. Don't let your eyes drift away. I have you, son, and we will get through this. Remember this is for all eternity, which is hanging in the balance: Be strong my son. I am here with you at every sting of the whip.”
There could be no dry eye between a father and his child in that moment, each with eyes locked onto each other.
This is our father, who art in heaven.
Today, as we go about this thing called life, we may get hurt along the way most likely.
Look into God’s eyes today and see what Jesus saw.
The almighty, powerful, compassionate, loving, living, peaceful and ultimate eyes of a loving father, assuring you that he has hold of you — and won't let go.
Stay in the moment long enough that you to may see a small tear forming.
Just a thought …
