Protection

As a father, I pray that God protects my family from Satan's schemes, the trials of the world, sickness, harmful ways and sinfulness. I pray to God, I pray as a father who loves his family but knows he, himself, can only offer limited protection.
But God as our father, and we as his children, wants to protect us as well. He said He is our shield or refuge.
Yet who does he pray to?
The key difference is that he, indeed, has the power to protect us. His prayer is much different. His prayer, his desire, is that we will turn to him and trust him. By doing so, we receive his protection.
He is always whispering to us in the midst of the noise of the world. Just trust me.
Two fathers praying for the ones they love — like bookends surrounding their families.
Just a thought…
