All In

Today’s Just a Thought comes from Romans 8:32: He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all — how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

As a leader, have you ever asked someone to do something for you that you know would require great sacrifice on their part to accomplish?

They took on the task wholeheartedly and worked day and night for three years to finish it. They gave up weekends, time with their family, risked their health, skipped vacations, took criticism from colleagues, were chastised by their spouse and even spent much of their own money all to meet this goal.

The project was completed on time and perfect. They had that look on their face of true pride in themselves.

How would that person feel if you said, “Thanks for completing the project,” and then turned around and threw the project in the trash?

Do we really think that God would go to the extent of having his own son go through such a journey on earth to the extent of dying on the cross, only to turn his back on him and the whole reason behind the mission?

Who would serve a God like that?

On the contrary, if we serve a God who is trustworthy and will follow through on his purpose for us in the world, a God whose love for us is so deep that he would actually sacrifice his son for us, what would that mean for us today?

Like the employee who turned in the project, we would watch as the boss uses the project to grow the company, increase profits, enrich employees careers and enhance all their businesses, changing consumers lives forever.

We would join with the boss in celebrating and we would be excited to begin working on the next project. Our family and friends who we had abandoned would return to us with greater support. Colleagues would gather around us to offer their assistance. For everyone wanted to be part of this new thing.

God is ready today for the next project he needs you to work on.Are you ready? Meet him in his office this am and see what great things he has planned for you.

Just a thought …
